1st Saint Petersburg Biennale of Museum Design, Nov 14 – Dec 14, 2014, FORMA

Vuonna 2014 Intro Design valittiin ja osallistui ensimmäiseen Museo Design biennaleen Pietarissa – St Petersburg Biennale of Museum Design FORMA (14/11–14/12/2014). Projektinamme oli suunnitella Chaliapin Memorial Apartment Museum:lle ulkonäkyvyyttä. Konseptinamme toimme uutta näkökulmaa ja annoimme historialle kasvot. Toimme vahvasti kuvamaailmaa osana opastusta katukuvaan. Suunnittelimme opastuksen arkkitehtuurin, visuaalisen ilmeen ja grafiikan.

Chaliapin Memorial Apartment – Navigation System and the Entrance Zone

In 2014, Intro Design was selected and participated in the first St. Petersburg Biennale of Museum Design FORMA. Our project was to design new navigation system and the entrance zone for the Chaliapin Memorial Apartment Museum. In our concept, we took a a new perspective and gave the museum ”many faces”. We brought the museum’s identity to the street through the roles of Chaliapin.

Museum design implies architectural and design techniques and solutions that are meant to arrange museum environment. This broad notion comprises architectiral concept for museum space, as well as design of permanent and temporary exhibitions, new types of museum navigation, design of the museum’s printed matter and a host of other things. Making museums accessible for the visitors with disabilities is an important part of contemporary museum design. St. Petersburg’s new Biennale is a unique event; it presents samples of Russian and international museum design via exhibitions and comprehensive educational program.
